In October 2007, the Chicago Sun-Times did a front-page cover story of McGuire, and called him the "Most Dangerous Priest in America." Initially, Donald McGuire garnered international acclaim in the early 1990s as the annointed spiritual confessor to the late-Mother Teresa of Calcutta. Some of his duties consisted of carefully examining the spiritual, psychological and backgrounds of all candidates intending to join the religious order of Mother Teresa, the 'Missionaries of Charity.' But, his reputation and that of Mother Teresa's was rocked when numerous men and boys came forward to accuse the globe-trotting priest of being a serial pedophile, which eventually led to his two convictions in Wisconsin and Illinois. It's anticipated that he will spend the rest of his life in prison. Sources working closely with McGuire claim that he's been violently beaten by inmates on numerous occassions while prison guards watched in amusement. They insist that this is inappropriate behavior, since they continue to believe in his innocence, despite twice being judged by a jury of his peers that he's guilty. Shortly before McGuire was convicted in the Chicago trial, the defrocked Jesuit spoke to the Dallas Blog on the phone around Christmas time in 2007. He loudly proclaimed his "innocence" in what could best be described as a "contentious" conversation. Around that same time period, the Dallas Blog received thousands of pages of documents and evidence showing that his accussers may have perjured themselves on the witness stand in Wisconsin. They had proof that McGuire had proven alibis showing he was elsewhere on some of his so-called nightly escapades. Witnesses inacurately described his rectrory rooms and his physical body description when they were first interrogated by investigators in Wisconsin. Sources from McGuire point their fingers at inadequate legal representation from his defense attorneys, Jerry Boyle and Stephen Komie, in the two trials. They claim they provided sufficient evidence to the lawyers to more rigourously cross-examine the accusers, but they failed to do so. After reading the entire transcripts of the Wisconsin trial, it appears that McGuire's team has a legitimate argument. The McGuire team made attempts to approach media outlets this past year to show some of their evidence, but to no avail as an eeiry silence ensued. They were informed that editors were no longer interested in the story. Nonethless, Barbara Blaine, a licensed attorney and founder of SNAP (the Survivors' Network of those Abused by Priets), continues to focus her attentions on the convicted pedophile priest. A few months ago, she told the Dallas Blog that more accusers alleging sex crimes by McGuire will soon come forward with a "mountain of evidence" that will be difficult to dispute. Some sources of McGuire's team insist that he can agree to a on-the-record interview, no-rules, no-strings-attached interview with Mr. McGregor if prison officials grant him the opportunity to tell his side of the story behind bars. About two years ago, McGuire confirmed this on the phone. However, media outlets were contacted to cover the exclusive interview, but nobody expressed a willingness to move forward on the project. McGuire may likely be guilty of his crimes, and it would seem effective for a hard-nosed reporter to interview him for the public record. He would likely crumble during the interview and his friends would no longer doubt his guilt. But if by chance, he's actually innocent, then he could reveal his evidence and explain how he was wrongly accused. Yet in all likelihood, he will die in prison without ever telling his side of the story to the public. written by Mike , February 22, 2010 The Usa is not a communist country yet, McGuire has a right to tell his side of the story, especially since the media on a whole, hasn't done too much research on the subject. S.N.A.P. only helps a few, they never did anything about Fr. James Gschwend. Why?

written by Jim , February 23, 2010 Mike, The Chicago Province Jesuits have boxes of documents from parents and victims of McGuire dating back to at least 1969. Over the years dozens of parents have written to them asking the pertinent questions, all for naught. It was the courage of a few that brought this to the forefront. Dozens of victims have since testified, under oath, in federal and district courts the crimes committed by this pervert against them. McGuire has had his many chances to tell his story in open court. Every time he's remained silent. To this day he still refuses depositions. The fact that even Benedict Ratzinger, who has personal knowledge of thousands of pedophile cases finally gave him the boot, should tell you something. S.N.A.P. with many volunteer victims and TRADITIO.com have done more than any other organizations to expose these criminals from the top down. If you expect more from S.N.A.P., make a much needed donation.

written by furrpiece , February 23, 2010 While I'm sorry to learn about anyone developing Leukemia, I cannot help but feel abject sorrow for the many many lives he ruined. It is not up to us to determine who goes to Hell. But, I suspect there is a special place nearest the fires for rogue priests who use their sacred positions within the Church as a trolling advantage for sexual, physical, emotional, and psychological abuse of children. I'm still curious why many of these people are not in prison where they belong.

written by Mike , February 24, 2010 Jim, I thank you for you reply. I realize that the Jesuits produced many documents regarding Fr. McGuire, but many of these documents clearly demonstrates the corruption within the Jesuits, focusing in on Frs. James Gschwend, Fessio and Schmidt including Pope Benedict. Details of this corruption were brought to the attention of the Jesuits, Cardinal George's staff, S.N.A.P., several Catholic Church pastors, Virtus Online, lawyers and others and nothing has been done. Nothing, Tell me WHY? They say we are all responsible to "Protect God's Children." If the Pope has any personal knowledge of facts regarding Fr. McGuire,as you say, he must have gotten his information from Fessio and Gschwend. Both of them have a past that needs to be looked into as well as many of McGuire's accusers. Did you know, that one guy accusing McGuire went to jail for 99 counts of fraud, stealing 25 million from 23 different people. Why have so many of these "witnesses" perjured themselves? There was no need for them to commit perjure. Jim, did you actually see any of these "so called" bad acts or did you just hear about it form someone? Did any of the Jesits or Pope Benedict see Fr. McGuire do any of these bad acts? Just ask yourself, why was Fr. Gschwend in charge of assembling all these Jesuit documents regarding Fr. McGuire. I think the Jesuits are covering up something bigger than sex crimes and railroading Fr. McGuire to take the attention of the bigger stuff they are hiding. I look forward to your reply. Mike

written by furrpiece , February 24, 2010 One of the greatest institutional failures in history, and easily the 19th and 20th centuries, has been the failure of the Catholic Church to prevent, deal with, excise, and punish the rampant homosexual and child predatory practices by a very large number of its priests (and other church officials). We all know it's not ALL priests, and it probably didn't occur in ALL dioceses or local institutions. But, evidence of it is widespread enough to know that it was endemic, deeper than the church ever admitted, was long-lasting, and was global. It is impossible to calculate the damage done to parishioners who trusted these religious leaders. As well, the damage done to the Catholic Church and Christianity is incalculable. Those of us who are believers know we should always separate the message from the messengers, and that Men will all fail because they are human and with fault. But, there is an additional lesson in this mess that deals with how institutions handle crisis. Lying, denying, cover-ups, delays of admissions, hiding from the media, hiding from its own members, and depreciating the damage are not the way to deal with a systemic problem known around the world. While we all hope the Church will eventually get beyond these ugly and damaging chapters, I expect many of us wait for what disclosures will leak out next.

written by John Doe , February 24, 2010 To furrpiece: Who learns the lessons? The Catholic Church leaders just do more lying, cover-ups, don't admit anything and bully people because they have more money to do so. Most the Jesuit leaders need to be exposed before the public gets tired of the entire Catholic Church. Read Cardinal George's deposition taken by Jeff Anderson. The transcript is only a couple hundred pages and is available on the internet. Pay attention to the Canon Laws he said he followed. Canon Laws are only for the "click" within the Catholic Church. Did you know the Jesuits violated 100's of Canons in the Fr. McGuire case.

written by furrpiece , February 24, 2010 Parishioner, I think the answers is, for the same reason Germans apologized for the Nazis for years, even though they may not have been personally involved in atrocities. A number of my friends are Catholics. I don't expect them to apologize. But, I do believe there is a reasonable expectation they will keep a cautionary eye on the Church, and do what they can to prevent repeats of these disgusting, reprehensible, and damaging offenses against people and against God. I also believe that when you are part of an organization, there is a collective responsibility to be a good steward of that organization's reputation and community membership.

Formally defrocked Jesuit priest Donald J. McGuire, who was twice-convicted of multiple counts of pedophilia, has been medically diagnosed to suffer from the fatal illness of leukemia, according to test results by doctors. A close friend of McGuire dislosed his diagnosis to the Dallas Blog on Sunday after the priest called his residence on Saturday night. McGuire made the heavily-restricted and closely-monitored one-and-a-half minute phone call from a federal pentientiary in Springfield, Mo, which can be proven through phone records.
