Lutz slams all three candidates for governor on WFAA's Inside Texas Politics PDF Print E-mail
by Will Lutz    Sun, Feb 7, 2010, 02:22 PM

William Lutz -- frequent contributor to this blog -- appeared on WFAA's Inside Texas Politics this morning and delivered a one-minute commentary. Lutz was in a "RANT" about the recent Belo Debate for governor, where all three Republican candidates for governor said they opposed requiring businesses to use the e-Verify program -- a simple, free, easy-to-use federal computer project that checks social security numbers businesses already collect to make sure they're genuine. Arizona requires businesses to use this program and Lutz argues all three candidates are being soft on illegal immigration. Lutz's commentary starts at approximately 10 minutes remaining in the clip (Click here to watch.)

Mr. Lutz, I just couldn't agree with you more.

Polls continue to show that Latino citizens, when polled confidentially oppose by huge numbers illegal immigration. They recognize that illegals take jobs away from them and other Americans, and cause enormous pressures on lower wages.

Republicans will get whatever vote from Latinos they will get, one way or the other, regardless of stands on illegals.

Illegal casting illegal votes, will all vote for Democrats.

The principled thing, the right thing, and the best thing for the next Governor of Texas to do is to encourage businesses to check SS#s with the national database, and to insist the Legislature pass a bill to make doing so a law in Texas.

We cannot afford the incredible cost of illegals!
