Since the Supreme Court's infamous Roe v. Wade abortion decision in 1973, there has been 52 million abortions. To put this number in perspective; the U.S. Census Bureau states that the population of California stands at 36,756,606 as of July 2008, while the population of Illinois is 12,901,563. Consequently, the combined poulations of California and Illinois is smaller than the amount of abortions performed in the U.S. since 1973.
The LifeSiteNews website reprts that, "any analysis of abortion stats and figures starts with the understanding that the Centers for Disease Control has never tabulated accurate numbers of abortions. The CDC relies on figures from state health departments, some which rely on voluntary reporting - and it hasn't had data from some states such as California and New Hampshire for more than a decade. In its survey of abortion statistics, the National Right to Life Committee goes to the source by relying upon the Guttmacher Institute, the former research arm of Planned Parenthood that receives figures directly from abortion clinics themselves. The NRLC explains, "because of these different methods of data collection. GI has consistently obtained higher counts than the CDC. CDC researchers have admitted at probably undercounting the total number of abortions, because reporting laws vary from state-to-state and some abortionists probably do not report the abortions they perform." According to LifeSiteNews, "digging into the numbers, the NRLC analysis shows abortion numbers rising in the 1970s and, in the 1980s, eabortions eventually mainstreamed itself to the point that about 1.55 million abortions were done annually until the 1990s." written by furrpiece , January 23, 2010 Wow, the liberals and Progressives who pushed legalized abortion must be proud. They have surpassed Hitler and have killed at the levels of Stalin and Mao. Of course, with Obama and his Progressive eugenicists in office, they should surpass those numbers in the next three years. Write comment
