Perhaps, 'An Inconvenient Truth,' is beginning to destroy his intellectual credentials, as his main rival, former Alaska governor, Sarah Palin, an Al Gore 'Denier,' is starting to rise in credibility as a global conservative political figure to be seriously reckoned with. The Times of London reports that, "the former U.S. Vice-President, who became an unlikely figurehead for the green movement after narrating the Oscar-winning documentary, 'An Inconvenient Truth,' became entangled in a new climate change 'spin' row." Speaking at the Copenhagen climate change summit, Mr. Gore announced the most recent research proved that the Arctic could be completely ice-free in just five years. According to the Times, "in his speech, Mr. Gore told the conference: 'these figures are fresh. Some of the models suggest to Dr. (Wieslav) Maslowski that there is a 75 percent chance that the entire north polar ice cap, during the summer months, could be completely ice-free within five to seven years." Yet, the climatologist whose report Mr. Gore had been dependent upon, slammed the former Vice-President in the water with a frigid, pre-global warming, blast. Dr. Maslowski said, "it's unclear to me how this figure was arrived at. I would never try to estimate likelihood of anything as exact as this." Al Gore's office later confessed that the 75 percent figure was one utilized by Dr. Maslowski as a "ballpark figure" a few years ago during a conversation with Mr. Gore. As reported by the Times, "the embarrassing error cast another shadow over the conference after the hacked e-mails from the University of East Anglia's Climate Research Unit, which appeared to suggest that scientists had manipulated data to strengthen their argument that human activities were causing global warming." written by jb , December 16, 2009 Finally, Gore's penchant for serial lying gets some traction. Today, I read about yet another Gore lie debunked right after I saw a piece about Pelosi's gas-guzzling jet which ferries her back and forth from her three day work week at $60,000 EACH way and an annual cost to taxpayers of $5,760,000. But hey, she REALLY REALLY cares about the environment AND the burden upon taxpayers............................... Frankly, it doesn't get much more surreal than watching an obese globe-trotting multi-millionaire [Gore] and his public-trough-gorging cohort/cronies [Ms. Nancy et al] crisscrossing the planet with carbon footprints bigger than the footprint of all of Bangladesh while pontificating to the rest of us about our profligate use of toilet paper. Gore and Ms. Nancy are simply not persuasive symbols of their own philosophies though they perform quite well as symbols of self-interest and sickening hypocrisy. Ditto for most of Hollywood and all the other odd and sundry eco-preachers who need to pluck the footprint -- er, beam -- from their own eyes before excoriating some pitiful schmuck for not having the elegance to drive a Prius or purchase vegetarian fare at Whole Foods. The pathetic truth remains that the sanctimonious, eco-preaching, abort-a-baby-to-save-the-earth cadre are NOT opposed to leaving humongous carbon foot-prints as long as the foot-prints THEY saddle the world with are stomped in pursuit of THEIR pleasure -- jet-setting, "horizon-expanding" travel, high-brow entertainment, large/small dogs and other assorted non-baby additions to the family, eco-friendly real estate [THEIR 28,000 sq. ft. house and vacation chalet and beach home has been weatherized by Ed Begley PLUS they recycle PLUS they only use the proverbial one-square], and hyper-consumerism of non-Walmartian [ie. appropriately sophisticated] goods...which brings us full-circle to the plank in the eye syndrome. Gore and Pelosi both suffer from egregious credibility gaps .... Another Lie by Gore

written by furrpiece , December 17, 2009 Al Gore's penchant for prevarication actually predates his rather infamous controversy over claims that he claimed to have invented the Internet. When running for office in Tennessee, his opponents regularly caught Big Al in overstatements and claims that proved not to be true, or that were so terribly twisted that they could only be cause "resume enhancers". There's a good reason Al Gore does NOT want to be questioned about his views, and refuses to debate a competent authority on the side of science in the Global Warming cult movement. Al Gore can't back up with facts and/or science what he's been saying all of these years. A good example is the Polar Bears. Gore has preached that, because of Global Warming, the Polar Bears are in danger of becoming extinct. Yet, since 1975, the Polar Bear population has grown to be five times as large. In terms of extinction economics, they are practically a household nuisance. Gore claimed, falsely, that the hacked emails were ten years old, when it was common knowledge the most recent emails were just a few weeks old. What's worse, as if it could get much worse, it that Al Gore is maintaining the same double-standard he exhibited in Congress. He flies around the world in a gas-guzzling private jet, and lives in a mansion with the carbon footprint of a small country. If Gore feels called upon to put out bad information regarding Global Warming, then it's a fair assessment that he knows he's being dishonest and deceptive.

written by Ken Dickson , December 17, 2009 It is time for the "lowly" citizen to demand that such "fools" have to live like the "masses" & demand tha "mainstream media" ignore their lies & demands for us to live as they say & not as they do! This "nut" did not deserve an "oscar", nor a peace prize...maybe a "boob" prize!

written by furrpiece , December 17, 2009 Let's review. Al Gore is the son of a very successful U.S. Senator who passed along a fortune to him. Al, having been in Congress for a number of years and having been VP for eight years, retires at full freight with a government-paid staff and office for life. But, Al wanted to be President, ran, lost, and was then depressed to learn that he's a loser. George Soros came along, took Al under his wing, and helped him tap into the Global Warming thing. Now Al is pushing the Climate Change Hoax and making tons of money - along with George - selling carbon absolutions. If you tried to write a book about this, the publisher would reject as being too fictional. Write comment

The saga of former Vice-President Al Gore, the Green Guru, continues as he publicly confesses to fabricating some claims about the dangerous consequences of a so-called global warming effect produced by man-made greenhouse gas emissions.
