Chamber of Commerce Dis-invited to Obama Jobs Summit PDF Print E-mail
by Tom McGregor    Wed, Dec 2, 2009, 01:05 PM

Chamber Jobs.jpgHefty Barack Obama donors such as union executives and prestigious members of academia will attend the White House Jobs Summit on Thursday.

"But," Fox News reports that, "few big Obama donors are among the top corporate executives on the list - and they are the ones who will bear the burden of creating the jobs that are needed to bring down the staggering unemployment rate."

On Wednesday, the Chamber of Commerce with whom the Obama administration has battled over health care and climate change policies, and the National Federation of Independent Businesses confirmed to Fox News that they were not invited to participate in the forum on expanding job creation.

As revealed by Federal Election Committee records, of the 29 attendees named on the partial guest list of the 133 forum attendees, five donated cash to Obama while four others worked at organizations which contributed heavily to political action committees that endorsed his campaign. A number of attendees are labor leaders whose political action committee donated substantial funds to Obama's war chest, which includes one group that contributed almost $29.5 million.

According to Fox News, "Anna Burger of Change to Win, who is invited to attend the forum, is secretary treasurer of Service Employees International Union Committee, or SEIU COPE, a political action committee that gave $29,442,016 to Obama between February 2008 and September 2009. Burger gave Obama $750 in personal contributions.

Randi Weingarten, prsident of American Federation of Teachers, will also attend the summit. The AFT, as well as the AFL-CIO Committee on Political Education, gave Obama $1,997,375 in October 2008. The United Food & Commercial Workers International Union had donated $673,309 to Obama from February to October 2008, will also participate at the forum.

The purpose of these one-day miracle meetings is not about solving problems. They are for show so that Obama can make it appear he has broad support for whatever wacky Socialist scheme he's going to try next.

If Obama was really interesting in creating jobs in the private sector, he would have invited all of the chambers, NAM (National Association of Manufacturers), NAB (National Association of Business), the state employment commission chairs, and a number of other organizations engaged in working with small and medium-sized businesses.

Obama and liberals want to grow government, and then make sure those new employees are SEIU members. The yearn for the return of a partisan government when most government employees were Democrats, and helped to perpetuate the Party and its elected officials.

If you can imagine the federal government with a Chicago twist, and then Saul Alinsky's vision finally realized, you have come close to where Obama and his appointed tax cheats and Communists want to take us.

Sadly, all of this self-perpetuation by the radical Left is just costing jobs, is making the recession longer and more painful, is depleting resources that would already have been replenished by private sector economic activity, and will hasten the day when hyperinflation takes off and takes over.

There is also no question that Obama and company continue to look for ways to weave ACORN and its hundreds of alter egos into the fabric of federal governments and its gigantic budgets.

What an IDIOT this BAHAMA is !

How do you get jobs [even in a "big time jobs summit"] if you exclude the very folks who produce job opportunities : this so-called "jobs summit" is not going to be anything but one big party for BAHAMA campaign donors, paid for at public expense; but the "mainstream media" will probably dutifully print the propaganda stories fed to them by the administration, claiming there will soon be lots of new jobs.

When will America wake up, and send BAHAMA to Kenya on a plane with a one-way ticket and no return VISA [which should keep him from coming back here, since the guy is not a U. S. citizen].

BAHAMA is proving every day that Chicagp has not changed much since the days of Al Capone. Big Al would probably have enjoyed the upcoming "jobs summit" party .........

As predicted, this was a cheering section to validate Obama's Socialistic ideas instead of a genuine meeting of business people coming together to achieve a synergy of ideas for creating new jobs.

I expect very few new jobs came out of this forum that wouldn't have been created without it, unless Obama really does take the advice of private enterprise and reduce taxes.

Banks aren't lending money to businesses, and that's a huge part of getting the economy going again.

We keep hearing this drivel about green jobs which, we already know, creates a negative impact on jobs. So, Obama remains agenda driven on jobs instead of employment driven.

One of the big problems IS the fact that Obama is ingrained in Socialist thinking. The very people who are his ticket out of the wilderness of joblessness are those he considers the enemy.

Until he is willing to adjust trade policies, innovate with tax policies, reduce corporate income taxes, stop the uncertainty with ObamaCare, Cap and Trade, Card Check, and other job killers, we will not have a healthy economy again.
