The Washington Times reports that, the president, seeking to pay off on promises made on the campaign trail, had gathered leaders of 387 federally recognized American Indian tribes, and among them was Hartford "Sonny" Black Eagle Jr." In May 2008, the 75-year-old Crow trible leader and his wife of 57 years adopted Mr. Obama when the presidential candidate was busy campaigning in the Western states, which would soon help him win the nomination. A man of very few words, Mr. Black Eagle said just three when asked about his 'adopted son.' The tribal elder from Montana said, "he done good," as he smoked a cigarette on the sidewalk in fron t of the Department of the Interior. According to the Washington Times, "inside, a third of the nation's Cabinet secretaries presided over a day-long conference to discuss economic development, housing, education, health care and the environment with the Indian leaders." Despite pressing concerns on the economy, health care and the war in Afghanistan, President Obama dropped by twice to both open and close the conference. Not surprisingly, the president bemoaned the treatment of Native Americans during westward expansion, when settlers swept over their territories and pushed them into the reservations, frequently on barren land. Obama said, "few have been more marginalized and ignored by Washington for as long as Native Americans - our first Americans. It's a history marked by violence and disease and deprivation. Treaties were violated. Promises were broken. You were told your lands, your religion, your cultures, your languages were not yours to keep. And that's a history that we've got to acknowledge if we are to move forward." written by Dr. Little , November 07, 2009 And since mighty "Big Chief Buffalo Bama" does not personally own 3 Billion Dollars, just where is he getting this ?? Is he taking it from someone else ??? Is he sort of like Robin Hood, or maybe sort of more like a politico who revels in giving away other peoples' hard earned money ???? Is this the "change" that BAHAMA has brought to Washington ?????

written by John Weekley , November 07, 2009 Regardless of your politics, today was an interesting moment in time. Today, President Obama gave over $3 BILLION DOLLARS to a collection of American Indian descendants. That's $3 BILLION that we didn't have and had to borrow from our children and grandchildren. When the White House was asked why Obama gave $3 BILLION dollars to the Indians, the arrogant reply was that he had promised the the money during the campaign. No explanation was given when asked why he would promise such a thing. Later in the day, the White House made the comment that the attack at Ft. Hood resulted in the the most casualties ever on an American military installation. However, that's not exactly correct. It's the most casualties resulting from bullets. In fact, the largest number of casualties on an American military installation occurred from arrows, not bullets.

written by lyszv , November 07, 2009 I wish Obama would quit treating my income as his personal piggy bank. He's buying votes. Who the hell authorized this anyway, or does Obama have the authority to give any amount of money to anyone he choses?
