State Sen. Royce West Advising Crabtree, NFL-Holdout PDF Print E-mail
by Tom McGregor    Sun, Sep 27, 2009, 12:09 PM

Crabtree West.jpgThe ESPN website reveals that Texas state Sen. Royce West, D.-Dallas, has been hired as one of the top advisers to Michael Crabtree, who's in the midst of one of the longest rookie contract disputes in recent NFL history.

The Austin American-Statesman quotes ESPN as writing that, "Crabtree's posse isn't the typical one filled with high school chums, siblings and a sampling of hangers-on. His circle consists of at least three men over the age of 40: former NFL superstar Deion Sanders, Texas state Sen. Royce West and Crabtree's cousin, bail bondsman David Wells."

It also disclosed that West plays dominoes with Crabtree, who played at Texas Tech and was drafted in the first round by the San Francisco 49ers.

West told ESPN, "the Michael Crabtree that I know is a genuine person. Well-thought-of in the community."
