Fidel Castro: Father of Cuban Communism and Numerous Offspring PDF Print E-mail
by Tom McGregor    Sun, Sep 27, 2009, 11:23 AM

Castro Fatherland.jpgFormer Cuban communist dictator, Fidel Castro, had enjoyed years of womanizing and fathered at least 10 children by a string of women, according to a new book.

As reported by the Daily Telegraph of London, "Fidel Castro is renowned in Cuba for his verbosity and longevity. But his long-suffering compatriots know little about another sphere where El Commandante has proved prolific - his private life."

In the Caribbean communist island discussing his womanizing ways is strictly forbidden, even in a country where the gossip grapevine flourishes in the abscences of a free press.

Yet a long-time Cuba observer has currently revealed the scale of his philandering and the existence of a minumum of 10 offspring, which is more than previously assumed - but very possibly not the full tally.

When Ann Louise Bardach, a journalist, asked Castro how many children he had sired during an interview with Vanity Fair in 1993, he grinned and answered "almost a tribe."

As reported by the Telegraph, "during the research for Without Fidel, her new book chronicling the lives of Castro and his brother Raul, to be published by Scribner, she discovered how true that observation was."

Now 83-year-old, Castro, was a dashing young man whose Hollywood good looks and rebel swagger, certainly added to a vibrant sexual allure during the years before and after the 1959 revolution. Actually, media reports describe female fans swooning after he arrived in Havana triumphantly and during his early excursions to the U.S.

He fathered one child, Fidelito (Little Fidel), with Myrta Diaz-Balart, his first wife, and five boys between 1962 and 1974 with Dalia Soto del Valle, a little-known companion whom he is said to have secretely married in 1980. Surprisingly, she had first appeared on Cuban television in 2003 - "so forbidden" was Castro's personal life, Ms. Bardach writes.

Still a murderer & thief!

He should not be awarded any glory for his history! He may have fathered many children, but he murdered many Cubans, not to mention his country!
