A few months ago, Mr. Kilpatrick was indicted and subsequently convicted on numerous counts of corruption charges. For a short period of time, he was forced to serve a prison sentence and disbarred as a lawyer. His disgraced downfall resulted from an extra-marital love affair with his then-chief-of-staff Christinne Beaty and his efforts to cover up his infidelities from the public eye. He was also implicated as being connected to the murder of a stripper, Tamara Greene. As the first Detroit mayor to be charged with a felony, he was forced to resign and eventually agreed to a plea bargain and pled guilty to two felonies of obstruction of justice. In an exclusive interview with the Dallas Blog, Mr. Williams explained that Mr. Kilpatrick may currently reside at the plush and affluent neighborhood of Southlake, Texas. He may also be working right now in the North Texas region if not in Tarrant County. Yet, Mr. Williams later admitted that he only obtained the information by reading an article from the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. The Texas Bar Journal hosted a media event this morning at the Hilton Anatole Hotel. During it’s first session entitled: “State Secrets or the People’s Right to Know? An Update on the Texas Public Information Act,” Tom Williams, an attorney for Haynes and Boone, was invited as a guest speaker. In front of a packed audience of lawyers and reporters, he announced that the scandal-ridden former Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick may currently be living in Tarrant County.
