Dallas County District Attorney Craig Watkins has shown grit and determination in his attempts to raise the Nielsen ratings of his TV documentary mini-series called “Dallas DNA.” The program is aired weekly on the cable channel, ‘Investigation Discovery.’
Recently, Mr. Watkins used the Dallas Bar Association to send a press release to the Dallas Blog. The press release is indirectly promoting his television show. The document reads as follows:
“Dallas County District Attorney Craig Watkins will discuss ‘conviction integrity’ and recent exonerations and at a ‘public forum’ on Monday, May 18, 2009, at noon at the Belo Mansion ( 2101 Ross Avenue in Downtown Dallas).
The public is invited to the one-hour forum. An optional lunch buffet is available for $12.76. Garage parking is available (enter from Olive Street ). Attendees are encouraged to arrive by 11:45 a.m.
The forum is sponsored by the Public Forum Committee of the Dallas Bar Association to educate the community on vital issues that impact the public. The Dallas Bar Association is a non-partisan organization consisting of nearly 10,000 lawyers.”
Mr. Watkins has participated in a busy schedule of events in the past few months to promote his television show, “Dallas DNA.” Lest one forget, he’s also employed in another job, which is much more important. Since 2007, he had been sworn in as the leading prosecutor of Dallas County and has an obligation to send ‘guilty’ criminals into prison.

First of all it is not "his" show. He did not produce it or direct or star in it. In fact he has yet to speak a single line in it. It IS about the changes his office is making.
Secondly, what is wrong with having a local DA whose policies are so innovative that prosecutors from across the country are coming here to learn from him? Do you prefer the "once convicted forever guilty" policies of prior DA's whose mistakes are still being uncovered?
And lastly, is this fixation on Craig an outgrowth of your former fixation on Sheriff Lupe, or has it replaced it altogether?

What was the proof that he used the Dallas Bar Association to send the press release? I'm not getting that from the release itself. It sounds as if the Public Forum Committee of the Dallas Bar Association is sponsoring the forum, and Craig Watkins is speaking.
