Friday night rocks at Dallas Rocks 2008, hosted By Russell Simmons And Pat & Emmitt Smith, benefiting the Diamond Empowerment Fund and Saturday night's Rising Star Awards benefiting Fashion Group International of Dallas, Inc.
Dallas Rocks 2008: Hosted by Russell Simmons and Pat & Emmitt Smith, the first major fundraiser for The Diamond Empowerment Fund (D.E.F.) will take place in Dallas on November 7th at City Place Tower. Earvin "Magic" Johnson will be the Honoree for this spectacular event and Suzanne Sena, Fox News Anchor will be the Mistress of Ceremonies.
Dinner chairs include Rozalyn & Robert St. Pe Colombo and April & Ray Crockett and the After Party Chairs include Kirby Schlegel, Blake Andrews and Matt Nordgren. From the 39th floor of City Place Tower all decorated with the colors of Africa, with stunning views of the Dallas skyline, fantastic menus designed by celebrity chefs and top entertainment, Dallas Rocks 2008: Diamond Dinner will be a premiere fundraising event.
Founded in 2007, the Diamond Empowerment Fund (D.E.F.) is a non-profit international organization with the mission to raise money to support education initiatives that develop and empower economically disadvantaged people in African nations where diamonds are a natural resource. Russell Simmons co-founded the organization and serves as Chairman of its Advisory Board. "I want to get the whole jewelry industry inspired to see what we can do," says Simmons. "We want this to be one initiative that hopefully spurs other exciting and effective initiatives."
