Americans can soon watch the comedic summit of this fall’s presidential campaign: the real Sarah Palin will appear on “Saturday night Live” to meet her look-alike impersonator Tina Fey. Lorne Michaels, longtime executive producer of NBC’s “Saturday Night Live,” said, “all in good time.” The show has been rejuvenated this fall by Fey’s three skits as the Republican vice presidential candidate. The New York Daily News reports that, “Michaels said on Wednesday he wasn’t actively seeking Palin, but that the McCain campaign called after the first skit, when Fey’s Palin appeared with Amy Poehler’s Hillary Clinton on the show’s Sept. 13 season premiere, to say they enjoyed it.” SNL has a long history of political walk-ons. Michaels prefer to keep this type of news a surprise until it happens, which is an opinion reinforced when word leaked that Sen. Barack Obama would appear on the same show and the Democratic presidential candidate had to cancel at the last moment. Michaels said, “I think we looked stupid.” There will be three more first-run SNL episodes before the election. Beginning Thursday, NBC is also airing three prime-time editions of the show at 8:30 p.m. (Dallas-time). On Tuesday, Palin told reporters that she’d love to appear on the show with Fey. The Daily News quotes her as saying, “I love her, she’s a hoot and she’s so talented. It would be fun to meet her, imitate her and keep on giving her new material.” To read the entire article from the New York Daily News, link here:

written by Boo , October 10, 2008 She has time to appears on SNL, but not to hold a press conference? I'm glad to see that Governor Palin is taking campaigning for the office of Vice President so seriously.

written by Paul Barnes , October 10, 2008 Since Palin's nomination as Vice President, Iran's President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has conducted more press conferences with American reporters than she has. It's fitting that she would appear on a comedy show.

written by Steve Heath , October 11, 2008 Going on SNL is fine. the campaign is apparently lost. Odds are very slim. McCain had a slim chance to oppose the treasonous bailout and get it back on track, but he was too stupid to figure that one out -and the neocon crowd he surrounds himself with are all in bed with the Wall Street band of treasonous criminals. Palin needs to distance herself from McCain -refuse to recite the Neocon garbage script Randy Scheunerman has written for her- and start campaigning for 2012 by talking to America and Americans and reminding us that she is one of us and can serve our interests, rather than the Billionaire masters of the Universe that both Mccain and Obama serve. - - if she can't do this -or won't do this - bye bye Sarah - you were mildly entertaining and gave some of us a very brief hope that someone honest and genuine was entering the national political arena.

written by Austin , October 11, 2008 The best thing Palin can do for her sagging career right now is to go on SNL. The presidential race is pretty much over now, and the ethics report violation sealed her fate in Alaska politics. She should be looking for a spot as a Fox News commentator (she has a journalism degree, you know) or start an Alaska hunting guide service. She can play off her 15 minutes of fame in many ways, but elective office is not one of them.

written by Austin , October 13, 2008 Postscript: Since the Republican dominated committee appointed by the Republican dominated Alaska legislature has found that Palin DID violate ethics laws in the firing of her ex brother in law I don't think she will be appearing on SNL. Her manifest unsuitability to be anywhere near the White House is just isn't as funny as it used to be. Write comment
