Houston has Cheapest Gas in Texas PDF Print E-mail
by Tom McGregor    Fri, Aug 29, 2008, 11:49 AM

Gas prices down.jpgThis week, retail gasoline prices continue to drop. The weekly AAA Texas gas price survey released on Friday finds that regular-grade averaged $3.47 per gallon across Texas, which is down 7 cents from last week.

The Houston Chronicle reports that, “Auto club spokesman Dan Ronan says the price was falling even as Labor Day approaches and Tropical Storm Gustav threatens to reach hurricane levels in the Gulf of Mexico.”

In this week’s survey, the cheapest gas is in Houston, where it fell to $3.39 per gallon. The most expensive gas can be found in El Paso at $3.60 per gallon, still down from a nickel last week.
