Arkansas Demo Chairman Shot at HQ PDF Print E-mail
by Carolyn Barta    Wed, Aug 13, 2008, 09:55 PM

A gunman shot and killed the chairman of the Arkansas Democratic Party in the party's Little Rock headquarters on Wednesday before being shot and killed after a 30-mile chase.  Chairman Bill Gwatney, 49, died four hours after being shot.  The shooter entered party offices and said he wanted to volunteer, and then went into Gwatney's office and began firing.  Gwatney was a superdelegate to the Democratic National Convention and declared supporter of Hillary Clinton.

The chairman was in the past a declared Hillary supporter, but if you look today at the AP story that right now is "up" on "Drudge Report" you will see that it is reported that after Obama emerged this year [2008] as the DEM front-runner the chairman declared his support for Obama. Now at the upcoming DEM convention that would have been a real "embarrassment" to the Hillary forces if they are planning to press for a role for Hillary on the DEM national ticket ....... and the chairman was intimately familiar with Arkansas politics and with the political "figures" of Arkansas politics, including the "Clintons".......

First I would like to express my deepest sympathy to Mr. Gwatney's family. This sort of thing happens far to often in America.

Second, Dr. Little I would think that your remarks were just a little crazy, but with the Clinton history of friends and acquaintances untimely deaths, you may be on to something.

Oh, Good Lord! This poor man was murdered by a nutcase who was fired from Target. All prayers and thoughts should be with his family. It is truly vile and sickening that another nutcase is blaming Hillary Clinton for this senseless tragedy. Where else but Dallasblog could such a post and encouragement exist?

Paul -- you're spot on! "Doctor" Little and his comment are so reflective of the depths to which this blog has sunk. Gwatney declared for Obama AFTER the nomination was wrapped up! The only quality left here is Fisher and Barta -- just wonder how long they can hold their nose and continue their good works?
