Obama Camp Slams Ludacris Rap Lyrics PDF Print E-mail
by Tom McGregor    Thu, Jul 31, 2008, 01:51 PM

Ludacris.jpgBarack Obama’s campaign team slammed a song by rap star Ludacris. The song has been called, “outrageously offensive,” however Bill Burton, an Obama spokesman, described Ludacris as a “talented individual.”

The BBC News reports that, “Politics as Usual calls President Bush ‘mentally handicapped,’ and insults both Hillary Clinton and John McCain … the rap star’s publicist initially declined to comment, reported the Associated Press.”

The Hip Hop singer used a misogynist-term to describe Mrs. Clinton and urged Mr. Obama against choosing her as his running mate, saying that she “hated on you.”

According to the rapper, Mr. McCain, the Republican candidate for president, does not belong in “any chair unless he’s paralyzed.”

Mr. Burton is quoted by the BBC as saying, “as Barack Obama has said many, many times in the past, rap lyrics today too often perpetuate misogyny, materialism, and degrading images that he doesn’t want his daughters or any children exposed to.”

The Ludacris song encourages African-Americans to cast their votes in the forthcoming election for Obama because he’s a black candidate.

Earlier this year in an interview with Rolling Stones magazine, Mr. Obama called Ludacris a “great talent and great businessman.”

Less a slam than a

"Gee, I wish he hadn't done that - it might hurt me in the polls - but, Ludacris, I love you man and if you can just keep quiet until after the election, you can come to the White House and say whatever you want no matter how nasty."

Ludacris is indeed a great talent and a great businessman. Good actor too. Does he know that Obama is a socialist? )at least)
