According to the New York Daily News, “the future of Disney’s hit show has come into question after its stay Miley Cyrus suggested the series might be coming to a close.” Cyrus, 15, gave the message on E! News in an interview scheduled to air on Tuesday, even though the show is just about to start the filming of its third season. Cyrus has played the role of Hannah Montana, a teen rock star, who lives a double life, since she was in her early teens. Cyrus’ comments come during a trying year for the teen sensation. In April, the singer-actress apologized after posing for suggestive photos in the May issue of Vanity Fair magazine. She also said she was “truly sorry” for scandalous pictures of herself that were leaked online around the same time. But her publicist told the Daily News that the teen sensation is not making plans to depart from the show. A representative from Disney wouldn’t say what the future holds for “Hannah Montana” – after the fourth season. Disney’s Patti McTeague is quoted by the Daily News as saying, “we start production on the third season of ‘Hannah Montana’ on Aug. 4 and have an option for a fourth season beyond that. We look forward to the ‘Hannah Montana’ feature film coming to a theater near you in spring 2009. To read the entire article from the New York Daily News, link here:
