The Atlantic Monthly quotes a senior Obama campaign adviser as saying, “Barack is well aware of the complexity and the organizational challenge involved in the transition process and he has tasked a small group to begin thinking through the process. Barack has made his expectations clear about what he wants from such a process, ho he wants it to move forward, and the establishment and execution of his timeline is proceeding apace.” Last month, according to the Post’s Shalaigh Murray, campaign advisers were sounding out John Podesta, a former White House chief of staff to former President Bill Clinton and currently the president of the Center for American Progress, for advice. An aide revealed that Podesta may likely head the transition team, which would take over from the campaign if Obama wins in November, and would be expected to ensure a smooth handover of power. written by Grrr , July 25, 2008 Isn't this what we want? When Hillary & Barack where fighting it out for 3 months, McCain basically went on vacation. Took a nap. I don't mean from just from TV under the stupid theory that the Dems will weaken each other. But literally, he didn't do any organizing, fund raising, etc. McCain really has no presidential-calibur campaign infastructure. Why aren't you guys mad about it? Before you blast me, take a few minutes and research their campaigns, finances, coverage. Then you can blast me!

Apparently, Sen. Barack Obama has already assumed that he will defeat Sen. John McCain in the November presidential election. So instead of campaigning, he has directed his aides to begin planning for the transition team for the White House.
