A second commissioner is leaving the Public Utility Commission. The commission sent out a news release July 23 announcing that Julie Caruthers Parsley will leave the commission, effective Sept. 1. She is currently the commissioner who has served the longest. Paul Hudson is leaving the commission Aug. 15.
"It has been a tremendous honor to serve the people of Texas, and I’m proud of the progress we made in electric utility and telecommunications public policy," said Parsley. "I’ve enjoyed this opportunity to address issues that affect every Texan, and I believe now is the right time to take on new challenges and move into the next phase of my career."
"Julie has taken on a breadth of challenging issues facing our growing state during her time on the Commission and I am thankful for the good work she has done," said Gov. Rick Perry. "While I am sad to see her go, I wish her much success in her future roles."
