According to the Newsom’s establishment of an exploratory committee would permit him to begin raising money and conducting polls. If he decides to enter the race, the 40-year-old politician will likely face a man 30-years his senior: Attorney General Jerry Brown, who had previously served as governor from 1975 to 1983.
