The Daily Mail of London reports that, “it is the latest in a series of rulings to protect convicts’ rights and ensure equality among different faiths.” Followers of other religions are allowed items such as prayer mats to allow them to worship. Justice Reform Minister Maria Eagle announced the new policy regarding pagans in a parliamentary answer session. Ms. Eagle is quoted by the Mail as saying, “prison service policy is to ensure prisoners of different faiths, traditions, including paganism, to protect their religion. Religious artifacts are allowed for relevant faiths, within the constraints of good order and discipline.
