Ron Paul’s Forces Plan Revolt against McCain PDF Print E-mail
by Tom McGregor    Mon, May 12, 2008, 11:48 AM

Revolt Ron Paul.jpgAlmost silently and largely under the radar, the forces of Rep. Ron Paul have been organizing across the nation to stage an embarrassing public revolt against Sen. John McCain when Republicans gather at the beginning of September for their national convention in Minnesota.

According to the Los Angeles Times, “Paul’s candidacy has been correctly dismissed all along in terms of winning the nomination. He was even excluded as irrelevant by Fox News from a nationally-televised GOP debate in New Hampshire.”

But Paul’s continuing bid for the White House is a reflection of a powerful lingering dissatisfaction with the Arizona senator among the party’s most conservative of conservatives.

Sen. McCain faces another challenge from former Republican Rep. Bob Barr of Georgia, who plans to run for president as a Libertarian candidate.

First, Ron Paul is a Libertarian, not a Conservative.

Second, the less than 1% of the vote that he garnered really should give him a voice in anything, much less McCain's campaign.

Third, he buys into insane conspiracy theories and is completely blind to modern economic and political realities.

He should just take his blimp and fly it off into the sunset.

Fourth, Bob Barr hasn't even won the Lib nomination yet. Their convention is May 22. And at least Bob Barr has the balls to leave the GOP, unlike Ron Paul.

Fifth, Barr has an advisory post with the ACLU. Best reason I know of not to vote for him

This is typical isn't it. Dallasite would have blogged against the founders too - remember, they didn't have the majority either. And the article says the Paul folks want a platform debate. Why is that an embarrassing public revolt? Shouldn't somebody be discussing the issues or have we all as Napolitano says become a nation of [blind/deaf] sheep?

Paul's group has been nothing but "against" everything!..We need leadership that will win & Paul & Barr can't cut it!!..McCain isn't lovely, but we need to stop the insane march to the left!!..You can't do that by not uniting behind Mccain, even if we have to "hold our nose"!

Even should Paul or Barr not stand a chance possibly they'll trend the republican debate (and McCain) to the right.

Should we be so lucky!
