The Virginian-Pilot reports that, “in the past several weeks, the demand for Forever Stamps has increased to 30 million a day, according to the U.S. Postal Service Web site. Since they were introduced in April 2007, more than 6 billion have been sold, according to the service’s site.” The postal service plans to begin lowering prices this week for Express Mail at the weights and delivery zones used the most. The incentives will be offered for Express and Priority Mail. High-volume Express Mail shippers and online users will get quarterly rebates and price reductions. The Postal Service will also offer guaranteed overnight delivery to Express Mail customers at additional locations. To read the entire article from the Virginian-Pilot, link here: Tmcgregor@

Today the price of a First Class U.S. Postal Service stamp goes up from 41 cents to 42 cents. But anyone with an old Forever Stamp won’t need extra postage, according to the postal service. The stamps will be honored no matter when they were purchased.
