Fox News quotes Morris as writing: “Does Hillary Clinton believe she can overtake Barack Obama among elected delegates? No way. The math is dead against her and she’s a realist. Even after Morris doesn’t think Hillary can persuade super delegates to vote for her. He insinuates that Mrs. Clinton continues to campaign to drive up Mr. Obama’s negatives before he becomes the Democratic nominee for President. If Hillary significantly beats up Obama before he runs against McCain in the general election; then he stands a good chance of losing to the Republican nominee in November. Hence, Hillary could run for President in 2012. To read the entire article from Fox News, link here:

written by Byron George , April 29, 2008 I believe Mr. Morris is absolutely correct. If, and we assume he will, Obama gets the nomination Hillary and Bill will do all they can to get Obama defeated. She can run in 2012 and not have a democrat incumbent to face.

written by Danilo , April 29, 2008 I wouldn't put it past Hill. She is the ultimate pol. Still, I wonder whether the rabid Obama supporters would be far too angry at her to support her in 2012 if she is perceived as the reason Obama lost? Are we even sure Obama wouldn't run again? He's going to be around for awhile, you know. Maybe Hill knows the answer to those questions. I don't. But when it comes to political judgement I put nothing past Hillary's abilities.

written by mjr , April 29, 2008 People do not like her, people do not trust her and people do not respect her. Nor should they. Her chances of winning a national election in the next 500 years are about as good as yours, McGregor. You would be well served to spend less time quoting reports from Fox News on this subject. Their reporting could not possibly be more right-wing biased; and guess what, in doing so, it affects your own credibility.

written by Tom McGregor , April 29, 2008 MJR: You criticize Clinton and the Fox News article appears to criticize Clinton. Would you prefer that I quote from liberal Web sites that praise Clinton and criticize Obama? The author of the story is Dick Morris, a former Clinton-aide. But apparently, you think he's a right-wing zealot. Don't worry, if James Carville writes an article in praise of Hillary, I'll quote from him, so I could prove to you I'm un-biased.

written by not a democrat , April 29, 2008 I'm not surprised. I truly believe this is why the Clintons didn't support Kerry in '04. They were planning her run in '08.

written by Anthony Everett , April 30, 2008 Obama will win in '08 and '12. Hillary will need to wait until '16 unless Congress changes the Constitution to allow a President to run for three terms because Obama has done such a great job. Hillary will be at least 72 years old by then. She'll be the old man, excuse me, old woman on the campaign trail. She'd better star talking with McCain to get pointers - oh, I forgot she already has done so in the current campaign.

written by Byron George , April 30, 2008 Anthony, I hate to burst your bubble but I doubt that Obama will be the nominee. The DNC considers him damaged and Hillary has a strong (if not corrupt) group of people behind her. If Obama gets the nomination Hillary will be behind the scenes doing everything she can to get McCain elected.

written by HSH , April 30, 2008 Byron, Excuse me, but I don't think you are an expert on the DNC. The DNC does not consider him damaged. I assure you.

written by Outspoken , April 30, 2008 It is glad to see it took Dick Morris to write about something that House Majority Whip James Clyburn has been saying and was interviewed on MSNBC about. I believe 100% this is what Senator Clinton is trying to do but the sad thing is between now and November it will be obvious to everyone except hard line conservatives that Senator Barack Obama will be the best candidate for this time in America. Dick Morris, who served as Bill Clinton’s political consultant for twenty years, writes a column for Fox News. In his latest opinion piece, he presumes that Sen. Hillary Clinton wants to run for president in 2012 with the hopes that Sen. Barack Obama will be defeated by Sen. John McCain in the November presidential election.
