Wright says in the Moyers interview that the sound bites are not the whole story and that people who heard his entire sermon understand the communication. An ABC News story quotes this excerpt: "When something is taken like a sound bite for a political purpose and put constantly over and over again, looped in the face of the public. That's not a failure to communicate. Those who are doing that are communicating exactly what they want to do, which is to paint me as some sort of fanatic or as the learned journalist from the New York Times called me, a 'wackadoodle.'" As for Obama's Philadelphia speech on race, Wright says, "He's a politician, I'm a pastor. We speak to two different audiences. And he says what he has to say as a politician. I say what I have to say as a pastor. But they're two different worlds," Wright said. "I do what I do. He does what politicians do. So that what happened in Philadelphia where he had to respond to the sound bytes, he responded as a politician." The re-emergence of Reverend Wright into the campaign equation doesn't sound like good news for the Obama camp, which obviously would like this issue to go away -- and particularly after the loss in Pennsylvania. Clinton will be able to use it to advance her electability argument by claiming it will haunt Obama through November.

written by Ken Dickson , April 26, 2008 this guy spoke with a "forked tongue" & the world knows it...& the God-fearing Christian would never sit in a congregation & listen to such "tripe" as he spews very long...thus he certainly has what should have been done, let the public know what type of "joke" is running for president!...Sorry, "soundbites" will not get it!

written by Jonathan Green , April 27, 2008 Its clear in this country, and this city that exremeist will not change their views no matter what evidence of truth is put before them. The miseducation of people will always be as it is, that is why we are in a war in Iraq. Know the truth, research the facts, media outlets use proganda to play on the ignorant extremeist knowing fully well there will always be a large mass of miseducated people who will buy into what they promote.

written by Jonathan Green , April 27, 2008 Where governments lie, God does not lie. Where governments change, God does not change. And I'm through now. But let me leave you with one more thing. Governments fail. The government in this text comprised of Caesar, Cornelius, Pontius Pilate - the Roman government failed. The British government used to rule from East to West. The British government had a Union Jack. She colonized Kenya, Ghana, Nigeria, Jamaica, Barbados, Trinidad and Hong Kong. Her navies ruled the seven seas all the way down to the tip of Argentina in the Falklands, but the British government failed. The Russian government failed. The Japanese government failed. The German government failed. And the United States of America government, when it came to treating her citizens of Indian descent fairly, she failed. She put them on reservations. When it came to treating her citizens of Japanese descent fairly, she failed. She put them in internment prison camps. When it came to treating citizens of African descent fairly, America failed. She put them in chains. The government put them on slave quarters, put them on auction blocks, put them in cotton fields, put them in inferior schools, put them in substandard housing, put them in scientific experiments, put them in the lowest paying jobs, put them outside the equal protection of the law, kept them out of their racist bastions of higher education and locked them into position of hopelessness and helplessness. The government gives them the drugs, builds bigger prisons, passes a three-strike law, and then wants us to sing God bless America? No, no, no. Not God bless America; God damn America! That's in the Bible, for killing innocent people. God damn America for treating her citizen as less than human. God damn America as long as she keeps trying to act like she is God and she is supreme! The Rev. Jeremiah Wright sits down with Bill Moyers tonight in his first interview since a furor erupted over his controversial statements that have impacted the presidential campaign. Barack Obama denounced some of the statements but otherwise stands by his former Chicago pastor and tried to quell the controversy with a speech about race six weeks ago. Still, the issue has not gone away, as indicated by a Republican ad about Wright in North Carolina that surfaced this week. Wright has scheduled other appearances, an NAACP speech in Detroit Sunday and a National Press Club speech in Washington Monday on the role of faith in the public square that's bound to be well covered. The Moyers interview will be broadcast at 9 p.m. Friday on KERA-TV, Channel 13. Click read more for excerpts.
