‘Virgin Mary Raped,’ Says Hollywood Director PDF Print E-mail
by Tom McGregor    Wed, Apr 23, 2008, 04:45 PM

Mary Raped.jpgThe Hollywood movie director of ‘Basic Instinct,’ Paul Verhoeven says Jesus was the son of Mary and a Roman rapist. He wrote a biography of Jesus and promotes his book by claiming that a Roman soldier raped Mary during the Jewish uprising in Galilee.

Fox News quotes Catholic League President Bill Donohue as saying, “here we go again with idle speculation grounded in absolutely nothing. He has no empirical evidence to support his claim, which is why they say, ‘may have.’”

J.M. Meulenhoff, an Amsterdam publishing house, will publish the Dutch filmmaker’s biography of Jesus, “Jesus of Nazareth: A Realistic Portrait” in September. In 2009, it will be translated into English. Mr. Verhoeven plans to make a film of Mary being, allegedly, raped.

Mr. Verhoeven is a baptized Catholic and a regular attendee of the ‘Jesus Seminar,’ which challenges the acceptable biblical account of Jesus while calling into question miracles and statements attributed to Jesus.

I am somewhat of a catholic. But I also live in what we percieve as the real world. It argue over things that are truley unknowble & invisible seem unrational. To dislike another over the unknown & invisable is just crazy. Faith is the salve that should, in the real world, reconcile what we really don't know. To act in any way on faith that harms another is Ungodly.

People, keep your unkind opinions to yourselves, keep your faith & love ALL.
