| Clinton Loyalists Defect to Endorse Obama |

The New York Times reports that, “some of it is just business, practical politicians putting aside ties to the Clintons to follow the will of the voters in their states or making a calculation about who seems best positioned to win.” The most recent significant defection occurred on Friday when former Labor Secretary Robert Reich publicly endorsed Obama. Mr. Reich went on a romantic date with Hillary when they were both college students. The Clintons consider the defections as a sign of disloyalty, but the defectors criticize the Clintons for defining loyalty as a one-way street, with small regard for the supporters that have made tremendous sacrifices for the couple. The critics contend that the needs of the Clintons takes precedent over anything else, which irks the former loyalists.
