written by Nobody's Fool , March 21, 2008 Being fired is NOT the same thing as NOT being reappointed! This type of Board position is for a fixed term, and such persons serve at the pleasure of the Governor. Please check your journalism and sensationalism meter - it's way off kilter with your misleading headline. Also, since both Shriver and Eastwood were originally appointed by the previous (now disgraced ex Governor Gray Davis), they typically would have been replaced with a new Governor. Since they were already personally reappointed once by Schwarzenegger - he's already proven that he is fair. Two terms is reasonable and customary and the right amount of time served - three terms is excessive. The real story will be in examining who Schwarzenegger appoints to fill these seats.
