According to BBC News, “Spanish media said the area was cleared before the device went off at (1 p.m. GMT). ETA, which ended a 15-month ceasefire in June, 2007 after failed peace talks, seeks independence for regions in northern A man, who claimed to represent ETA, called highway police to warn of the car bomb device, pinpointing the location, make and color of the vehicle at around 12:30 p.m. GMT. The ETA has also been blamed for the killing of a former town councilor in the Basque region two days before the Spanish general election earlier this month.
