| BBC Exonerates Judas in a Drama Mini-Series |

The Daily Telegraph of London reports that, “Judas is portrayed as torn between his loyalties to Jesus and Caiaphas, who organized the plot to kill Jesus. Pilate, played by James Nesbitt, is shown struggling to manage his wife’s social aspirations and his career as he tried to ‘keep a lid’ on tensions in Traditional Christian groups accuse the BBC of rewriting the Bible, but the producers said they were just trying to understand the motivations of the characters. The series will be broadcast over Easter Week. The drama’s award-winning writer, Frank Deasy said the program uncovered the motives of a man whose name had become a byword for treachery. Deasy admitted that he’s always had a problem with how Judas is portrayed in other stories about the crucifixion of Jesus Christ. To read the entire article from the Daily Telegraph, link here:

written by ElHombre , March 12, 2008 Looks like people are taking advantage of the discovery of the 'Gospel of Judas' a while back. More power to 'em. On another note, it'll be interesting to see how many of the folks crying fowl about the Mohammed cartoons being an act of intolerance now turn around and behave the same way as some Muslims.

The BBC will broadcast a new drama mini-series about the final week of the life of Jesus Christ which appears to exonerate Judas and Pontius Pilate. The drama, “The Passion” portrays the men in a sympathetic light because the producers feel that they have been “very harshly judged” by history.
