The Dallas Education Foundation will make an announcement about a major gift to DISD at a news conference scheduled Tuesday, (Feb. 26) at 10:30 am at FelixG.BotelloElementary School, 225 S. Marsalis Ave.
Ron Kirk, Dallas ISD Superintendent of School Michael Hinojosa, Dallas Education Foundation board members, Dallas ISD Trustees and administrators, Dallas Achieves Commission and donors, and other community leaders will be present during the news conference.
Does that mean DISD won’t need to raise our property taxes again with yet another bond election tentatively planned for this May?
Who comprises the Dallas Education Foundation, and how big an endowment do they have? I could find little on Google about the DEF group except that it is headed up by former Mayor Kirk, and has partnered on another initiative with TI. Please give the details on the organization itself, its mission, and its leadership/governance. If their gift is either a small amount or slated for something other than infrustructure, it sure will not have any impact on the bond election funding requirement.

I think they will announce that Michael Dell is giving them $5 Million dollars to give to the DISD to track student grades.
