Michael Feinstein and Linda Eder featured Entertainers for the Dallas Summer Musicals Curtain Call 2008 presented by Comerica Bank

Grammy-nominated performer, composer and arranger Michael Feinstein and Jekyll & Hyde Broadway star Linda Eder will provide the featured entertainment for Dallas Summer Musicals’ annual Curtain Call Gala on Saturday, February 16, 2008 in the Chantilly Ballroom at the Hilton Anatole Hotel.

     Michael Feinstein is nationally recognized as one of the premier interpreters of American popular song as well as one of the foremost experts and interpreters of George Gershwin’s music.

          Linda Eder’s career is built on a solid Broadway base, but reaches far beyond it. Over the years, passionate fans across the country have packed concert venues,

including New York’s Carnegie Hall, for her performances.

          Together, Michael and Linda’s shows have received rave reviews from fans

and critics alike.

          Now in its fourth year, Curtain Call is a spectacular evening of entertainment preceded by an elegant seated dinner and live and silent auctions of exciting items and unique packages.  Proceeds from the event benefit the Southwest’s oldest and largest nonprofit theatre company, the Dallas Summer Musicals (DSM) and provide for children's education and outreach programs, such as the Seats for Kids program and Stage Right.

          “We’re honored to co-chair this exciting event,” said co-chairs Wendy Walker and Robert Witte. “We’d especially like to thank the Hoglunds for their support, our hard-working committee, members of the DSM board and the DSM staff. Everyone has come together and is working very hard to make Curtain Call a huge success.”

Wendy Walker joined the DSM board of directors this year and served on last year’s Curtain Call Gala Committee.  “Funds raised from Curtain Call benefit thousands of low-income, at-risk and special needs children, giving them the opportunity to experience, perhaps for the first time, the magic of live theatre. Supporting this event will truly touch the lives of our community’s young people and their families.”
          Walker adds, “Dallas Summer Musicals is one of our greatest community assets and a jewel of this city.  Michael Jenkins and his DSM team are remarkable, bringing the best of Broadway to Dallas.” Walker currently serves as the director of media relations at Baylor Health Care System.  She is a member of the Junior League of Dallas, Victims Outreach Advisory Board, Public Relations Society of America and Dallas Press Club.  She also is a 2004 graduate of Leadership Dallas.      
            Curtain Call co-chair and DSM Board Member Robert Witte spoke of the unique opportunity to combine a spectacular evening with a powerful purpose: "Curtain Call 2008 will provide an unforgettable night of entertainment and a few surprises that our patrons will not want to miss.  As we work to raise $500,000 to benefit DSM and its education and outreach programs, we know that our collective efforts will positively and permanently impact the lives of hundreds of children and youth through all that DSM does in the community." 
             Witte, an attorney with Winstead PC, is past Board Chair for the Make-A-Wish Foundation of North Texas, President of the OU Club of Dallas, and a member of the Dallas Arts District Alliance Board of Directors and the Leadership Dallas Alumni Board.  A lifelong fan of musical theater, Witte has performed at venues ranging from the 1986 World's Fair in Vancouver, to Carnegie Hall (in 2006).
