Another One Bites Dust -- Richardson PDF Print E-mail
by Carolyn Barta    Thu, Jan 10, 2008, 03:48 PM

bill-richardson-2.jpgNew Mexico Gov. Bill Richardson dropped out of the race for the Democratic nomination Thursday, saying he lacked the money and staff needed to take his campaign to the West.  Richardson, often called the best resume candidate, was hoping to find his following in states with heavy Hispanic votes, such as Nevada, which votes on Jan. 19, and western states voting on Feb. 5.

However, the 60,000-member Culinary Workers Union in Nevada endorsed Barack Obama Wednesday, a day after Richardson had a disappointing showing in New Hampshire capturing only 5 percent of the vote, dampening Richardson's chances in Nevada.  A former congressman and cabinet member, Richardson is often mentioned as a potential vice-presidential candidate. Here's the ABC News story.

By resume candidate I assume you are refering to the time he listed himself as a player in the Kansas City Royal baseball organization.

Richardson was over-qualified and dull.
Nice mix for a president, eh?

Dull? the only one who elicited laughter at the debate last Saturday, dull. I think not. I don't believe that he was ever a legitimate Presidential candidate, but certianly was given exposure as a Vice-Presidential possibility
