Tompkins Won't Run for GOP Chairman PDF Print E-mail
by Tom Pauken    Tue, Jan 1, 2008, 03:06 PM
Alan Tompkins has decided against running for Dallas County GOP Chairman.  That clears the way for Jonathan Neerman to become the next local Republican chairman, succeeding Ken George who isn't running for re-election.  Neerman is a hard charging young attorney who has his work cut out for him in 2008 as he tries to reverse the Democratic trend in Dallas County.  The Democrats swept all countywide offices on the ballot in 2006 and hope to solidify their control over the Courthouse this year.

Tom,

Kenny Marchant has announced he will be running for re-election for Texas 24. I live in Texas 24 and I am disgusted with Mr. Marchant's performance. What is your opinion?

Alan and I served together on the Judicial Nominating Commission for the City of Dallas several years ago. He is a nice guy, brainy and calm. I'm glad to see he's helping the Party and kept his head when some tried to convince him to challenge Jonathan.
Thanks Alan.

Neerman will do a great job. I hope those who have been involved for decades will stand with him and follow his leadership.

I agree with George. When we need constituent services out of Kenny Marchant's office we find his employees ill-equiped to handle the simplest tasks. I'm no Frost fan but he did have competent employees. You can't say the same about Marchant. He should fire the who bunch because they make him look bad.

We need to introduce a new topic on the Dallas Blog. All of this discussion about a future Dallas County Chair has me on the edge of my chair. Who do you support for dog catcher?

If I remember correctly, your last county chair failed miserably. Anyone candidate for chair would be an improvement. The last Dallas County Republican Party Chair may want to expunge his last job from his resume and look for other less demanding work.

Now that you are all in the mood, I would like to introduce you all to the next U.S. Congressman from District 24, Tom Love. Please go to www.tomlovefortexas.com and check out his web site and blog.

Unlike the incumbent, Tom has published several articles on most of the critical issues of the day for ordinary Texas.
