Novak Defends His Barack Obama Article PDF Print E-mail
by Tom McGregor    Mon, Nov 19, 2007, 06:07 PM

Accusations.jpgConservative columnist Robert Novak stood by his story Monday that supporters of Hillary Clinton are spreading the word that they are withholding scandalous information about Barack Obama. Novak also charges the presidential Democratic front-runner of resorting to “Nixon tricks” with her campaign tactics.

Fox News quotes Novak as saying, “this is very similar to the kind of trick that Richard Nixon used to pull, where he would say, ‘I know some very bad information about the communists supporting George McGovern (Democratic challenger to Nixon in 1972 presidential election) but I can’t put that out because it wouldn’t be right, but I’m just too good of a guy.”

Novak admitted that he has no proof of scandalous information about Obama but believes with certainty that Clinton’s campaign told well-connected Democrats that they have damaging evidence about Obama.

Novak claims to have learned about the story from two sources within the Democratic Party establishment, and no Republicans had been involved with leaking the confidential information.

Obama reacted to Novak’s column printed on Sunday by calling for a press conference to denounce Clinton’s smear tactics. He challenged Clinton to come forward with the information if it exists.

Novak, Rove, DeLay...it's disgusting watching them rise from the dead for old time's sake. Oh, and Abramoff must be up to something, too. Lots of time in there.

Novak is what's known as a "shill," last I looked. There are other assorted descriptors for the rest of them.

This is one Republican that thinks the pot is calling the kettle black...

Novak a shill? Nonsense. For who? Was he a shill when he started the whole Plame affair? Dems are trying to find out who started the rumor of rumors, not questioning the veracity of the Dark Prince, at least the grown ups are.

Republicans want Obama to be the candidate and assist in financing his campaign. They feel thay can beat him, but can't beat Hillary.

You must be kidding. Not knowing that Novak is a shill for Rove is like not knowing that we were lied into this invasion of Iraq with the threat of those weapons of mass destruction. I guess some people never stop believing. Ignorance is bliss and all that jazz. Rock on. And then try real hard to face reality.

Actually, the GOP knows it can't win this time. Time for a redo.
