General Colin L. Powell, United States Army (Ret.) and 65^th U.S. Secretary of State, along with Wayne Doran, trustee at Glimcher Realty Trust and former Vice President of Ford Motor Company, will be honored at the 3^rd Annual Congressional Medal of Honor Foundation Dinner at the Four Seasons Resort Dallas on Saturday, October 13, 2007. 

The event is one of several regional dinners that will be held throughout the country to celebrate the rich legacy of American courage, sacrifice, service, and patriotism.  The signature event originated in New York in 2003 and has since expanded to include Atlanta, Dallas, Chicago, Los Angeles, and Seattle.

General Powell will receive the Patriot’s Award at the event.  Created in 1968, it is the highest award that the Congressional Medal of Honor Society can bestow on an individual.  Past recipients include Bob Hope, H. Ross Perot, George H. W. Bush, General H. Norman Schwarzkopf, and General Peter Pace. 

Wayne Doran will receive the Distinguished Citizen’s Award, given to those who, through their life’s work, have distinguished themselves as Americans dedicated to freedom and the ideals represented by the Congressional Medal of Honor Society.  Past recipients include William A. Allen, John “Tex” McCrary, Raymond Collins, and The Honorable John Mosley.
