Highland Park has loset senior quarterback Dutch Crews for eight weeks after he suffered a broken collarbone in the opening minutes of last week's game against Terrell.
Senior Winston Gamso replaced Crews and threw for 318 yards and three touchdowns. Gamso (6-5, 225) has made great strides in accuracy and mobility during the past two years. Gamso was Highland Park's JV quarterback last season.
Crews started Highland Park's first four games.
Highland Park (4-0, 1-0 in District 10-4A) is ranked No. 4 in the 4A state poll. Highland Park plays Mesquite Poteet (2-2, 1-0) on Friday at Highlander Stadium.
