Interview with Brendon Mills
Dallasblog is launching a new video series entitled "In the Mind of the Entrepreneur" which will focus on North Texas technology entrepreneurs. The series will focus on entrepreneurs who have launched their company as measured by either a first round of funding or a product being produced. We will ask the questions: How did they do it? What does it take? And what have they learned? This video interview is with Brendon Mills, Founder and CEO of RipCode. Ripcode provides video transcoding that significantly improves the ability to stream video across multiple devices, e.g., a PC, the mobile phone and an iPOD. Ripcode’s technology converts a media file or object from one format to another so it fits the unique constraints of mobile devices and other web-enabled products. Brendon is a serial entrepreneur who started with the successful telecom hardware venture Netspeed in Austin which was acquired by Cisco in 1998 for $237M. He then started General Bandwidth in Austin, moved it to Dallas and raised over $185M. Recently he left General Bandwidth with the idea for a new product resulting in the founding of Ripcode.
