Prestonwood star catcher/pitcher Jordan Swaggerty has committed to Arizona State. Swaggerty is projected as the top Class of '08 prospect for North Texas. He's considered a top prospect at both positions.

Mesquite Poteet lefthanded pitcher/first baseman Teddy Nowell has committed to play at Oklahoma. Nowell led Poteet to the Class 4A state final before losing to Corpus Christi Moody. Nowell will join former Mesquite pitcher/third baseman Casey Johnson, who will be a Sooners freshman this fall and former Poteet lefty C.J. Blue, who is transferring in to OU.

YOUNGER NOWELL TRANSFERRING

Beau Nowell, younger brother of Poteet standout Teddy Nowell, will transfer to Royse City with a family move said Ted Nowell, former Poteet coach. Beau is a standout catcher who likely will play varsity as a freshman and Beau is a top quarterback prospect as well. Ted Nowell said his older son, Teddy, will remain at Poteet for his senior year.
