It's that time of year: state tournaments and early commitments for the Class of 2008.

Rowlett shortstop Brandon Loy has committed to play baseball at Texas, where his dad Darren was a catcher during the Clemens-Schiraldi heydays. Highland Park shortstop Joey Hainsfurther has committed to Baylor.

Texas, as usual leads with commitments statewide. Georgetown outfielder Morgan Mickan, Rogers pitcher Taylor Jungmann, Westlake third baseman Jordan Etier and Austin McCallum shortstop  Jordan Etier.
