The Embrey Family Foundation is honored to present
A "Taste" of Truth in Translation Project coming to Dallas as part of the 3rd Annual Women's Peace Conference The "taste" of Truth in Translation Project presentation will be on July 12th, 2:00 - 3:30 p.m. featuring:
* Michael Lessac, artistic director; * Some of the production actors including Fana Mokoena, who most recently appeared in a supporting role as General Bizimungo in the Oscar-winning film Hotel Rwanda (pictured here in a photo by Ruphin Coudyzer); * Max du Preez (the South African journalist who lived through apartheid and covered the entire Truth and Reconciliation Commission process) and * exhibitions by leading female photographers and journalists Jillian Edelstein and Marina Cantacuzino.
There are Nobel Peace Laureates, entertainment events in the evenings and so much more. One of the very cool happenings is on the morning of the 12th at the conference: Dr. Rick Halperin, SMU Human Rights Education Program who is also the Chairman, Board of Directors, Amnesty International USA will be giving his presentation followed by the Truth in Translation presentation that afternoon from 2:00 - 3:30 p.m.

written by mrain , August 23, 2007 Another great way to support women's rights (and to see a fantastic show!) is to buy a ticket to Queen Latifah's "Harmony in the House" concert, held Saturday, Sept. 29 at 7:30pm at The Majestic theatre. All procedes benefit The Family Place, a non-profit Dallas domestic violence shelter. This concert will be the first stop on Queen Latifah's first national tour.
