Southlake' s Riley Dodge back to QB by following father PDF Print E-mail
by Dave McNabb    Sat, Jun 30, 2007, 11:53 AM
Southlake Carroll quarterback Riley Dodge is switching his commitment to North Texas to play for his father, newly named Mean Green coach Todd Dodge. Dodge (5-11, 180) committed in February to Texas after receiving a surprise offer.
A lot of luster of going to Texas might have been taken off for Riley two weeks ago when he went to a Texas junior day and was with the wide receivers... Riley is a team player and played WR as a SLC sophomore but wasn't projected to be a UT quarterback some day .. When you've grown up being a quarterback and switch to college receiver playing behind a class that includes Dan Buckner (also at junior day) and speedy DeSean Hales (also at junior day) of Klein Oak, trying to make your mark with your dad at North Texas might look more appealing ... And, if you haven't been there recently, North Texas is building some terrif facilities and its student body is craving an on-campus interest to develop

Elizabeth Dodge, Todd's wife and Riley's mom, is an NT alum. She went back to school when Todd was the offensive coordinator under Dennis Parker.

Typical coach's son. Wants it his way...oh daddy will give him a chance to play QB. Let's face it he wouldn't play QB at Texas. He would have a hard time playing period.

Bill

As the great american author Mark Twain said, "It is better to keep your mouth closed and let people think you are a fool than to open it and remove all doubt."
You have removed all doubt.
