by Dave McNabb    Mon, Jun 25, 2007, 11:58 AM

Duncanville has named Chris Anderson to replace Panthers coaching legend Bob Rombach, who is retiring with a 862-364 career record over 39 years. In 23 years at Duncanville, Rombach finishes 568-182.

Anderson, onetime star under Rombach, has been a longtime part of the Duncanville program. He's been a Duncanville assistant since 2000, varsity assistant the last three years. He was a grad assistant at Dallas Baptist in 1996-97. Chris is a math teacher at DHS and his wife, Shelley, is a school counselor in Duncanville.

In other coaching moves around North Texas, Boswell has a surprising opening as ultra successful coach Sam Booker has left for private business.

Carrollton Creekview hired Naaman Forest assistant John Herrick, who was at Creekview when school opened.

South Garland elevated assistant JD Lancaster to replace Rick Robertson who left after 18 years to take over at Plano.

Garland named Nick Siratt to replace Kyle LaFevers.

At Corsicana, there's a lot of community support for former Billy Harlan, now a Dawson Elementary School principal who has interviewed ... Harlan, well-known as a summer youth coach, also has coached at Dallas Baptist, Navarro, Mildred and with the Tigers ... Corsicana's Tracy Wood left after 8 years for Waxahachie.

Creekview hired a great one in John Herrick. He was my hs baseball coach and one reason I got into coaching in the beginning. A great influence on me. Congratulations Coach Herrick!
