Oklahoma headaches: Stoops' pyramid, NCAA waiting PDF Print E-mail
by Dave McNabb    Thu, Jun 21, 2007, 06:02 PM

Oklahoma coach Bob Stoops is putting out a minor public relations fire with his name surfacing in an internet music site being labeled a pyramid scheme in a South Carolina lawsuit, but the Sooners' biggest headache is waiting for NCAA sanctions from the Rhett Bomar Affair.

OU had its Committee on Infractions hearing in April and hasn't heard yet. OU recently released information that it was still answering questions on other minor infractions (sport drinks) but if the sanctions haven't been released it likely means the Sooners believe the sanctions are too harsh and are appealing.

In a South Carolina case, Stoops was mentioned by Steve Spurrier Jr. as having brought Little Steve (a former OU assistant) into a music site that also included former Clemson coach Danny Ford, Hootie and the Blowfish music group, etc. It's a "talk of Gulfshores" SEC-ACC dominant summer story that likely won't amount to much other than embarrassing some people.
