The U.S. Treasury Department announced this week that the federal budget deficit grew to $83.1 billion in November, the largest deficit of any November in U.S. history. A year ago the deficit was $57.9 billion. Whatever happened to all those Congressional campaign promises to balance the budget and get federal spending under control?
