DallasBlog has learned that the US Department of Justice has served Dallas County a “target letter” stating that it is the potential target of an investigation regarding human rights violations of the County Jail. The human rights issues arise from health care provided to inmates. Some observers had anticipated the matter would be brought up for discussion at yesterday’s County Commissioner’s meeting and were surprised it wasn’t.
