Rep. Garnett Coleman (D-Houston)
Rep. Garnet Coleman said today that the Texas Tax Reform Commission, created by Gov. Rick Perry and to be led by former Comptroller John Sharp is not inclusive enough in its membership. Coleman said the commission should include educators, workers and consumers.

“I’m sure the Commission members are fine people and I know many of them have solid records of service to the state and their communities, but there is not a single person on the commission who is worrying about paying the rent, making a car payment, or making a house payment this month,” Coleman said.
